Russia: No Solution for Yemeni Crisis but through Dialogue

The Russian Foreign Ministry has renewed confirmation that there is no solution for the Yemeni crisis except through dialogue.
In a statement issued on its website, it said: "We believe that it is necessary to do everything to bring the current fighting in Yemen to an end and to achieve peace and a fixed solution for the crisis there through an inclusive dialogue which is to have Yemenis interest above all considerations."
It urged the international community to provide as much as possible of the humanitarian assistance for the Yemeni people, affirming appreciation of Russia for all states of the region to secure passage without hindering the Russia planes.
Two Russian planes carrying huge shipments of food aid arrived in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa.
Acting Russian Chargé d’Affaires in Yemen voiced hopes that the aid would reach those affected by the US-led Saudi aggression.
Saudi Arabia has imposed a near total blockade on a country heavily reliant on imports.
Since March, a Saudi-led coalition backed by the United States has been carrying out airstrikes against Yemen. The airstrikes have not been authorized by the UN.
A UN-declared ceasefire was meant to have started on Saturday to allow aid deliveries into Yemen, but the Saudi-led air strikes have persisted.
According to UN records, the Saudi attacks have killed more than 2,600 people and injured at least 11,000 since the military aggression began against Yemen on March 26.
The US-led Saudi military aggression began in an attempt to bring the fugitive former Yemeni president, Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, who is a close ally of Saudi Arabia, back to power, and to weaken the Houthi Ansarullah movement.
