The artillery of the Yemeni army and popular forces fired a series of shells on hideouts of Saudi-paid mercenaries in Salah valley in Taiz governorate. One of the mercenaries' sniper was killed, a military official told the state-run news agency Saba on Thursday.
Three mercenaries were also confirmed dead from the shelling by the national forces.
The national army overnight also repelled an attempt by the mercenaries to advance toward the eastern part of Mokha, inflicting heavy losses upon them.
Through the March 2015-present military campaign, Saudi Arabia has been unsuccessfully seeking to return power to Yemen’s former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
The Yemeni army and allied fighters have been defending the nation against the invasion, which has claimed over 11,400 lives, according to the latest tallies.
Yemeni forces have been engaged in retaliatory attacks against the Saudi forces deployed in the country as well as targets inside Saudi Arabia.
