The Yemeni army and popular forces killed dozens of US-Saudi-paid mercenaries and injured others in a retaliatory attack in Jawf governorate, a military official told the state-run news agency Saba on Thursday.

The attack destroyed several military vehicles belonging to the mercenaries.

Through the March 2015-present military campaign, Saudi Arabia has been unsuccessfully seeking to return power to Yemen’s former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

The Yemeni army and allied fighters have been defending the nation against the invasion, which has claimed over 11,400 lives, according to the latest tallies.

Yemeni forces have been engaged in retaliatory attacks against the Saudi forces deployed in the country as well as targets inside Saudi Arabia.
