The Yemeni army and popular forces repelled an attempt by the Saudi aggression forces to advance towards east Mocha city of Taiz province overnight, a military official told the state-run news agency Saba on Wednesday.

Dozens of the invaders and their mercenaries, including members of al-Qaeda and Daesh as well as Sudanese soldiers, were killed and 11 military vehicles were destroyed during the confrontations, the official added.

The botched attempt lasted from Tuesday morning to the evening covered with intensive sorties of the aggression warplanes, which exceeded 60 raids, in addition to the bombardment of Apache helicopters and battleships.

The regime in Riyadh has been incessantly pounding Yemen since March 2015 in a bid to reinstall the country’s ex-government and crush the Houthi Ansarullah movement.

The military aggression has claimed the lives of over 11,400 Yemenis, including women and children, according to the latest tally by a Yemeni monitoring group.

Yemeni forces have been engaged in retaliatory attacks against the Saudi forces deployed in the country as well as targets inside Saudi Arabia.
