The Deputy governor of Yemen’s Mahweet province, Faruq Mutaher al-Rawhani, reviewed at a meeting with local council officials, the humanitarian and health situations in Bani Saad district, calling on international humanitarian organizations to provide emergency aid to the district.
In the meeting, the officials discussed the difficult health and living situations and the means to provide quick solutions to ease the suffering of the residents.
The officials stressed on the importance to tackle the shortages in food and medicine.
They also discussed means to end the spread of diseases such malaria and diarrhoea in areas across Bani Saad. Malnutrition among children and mothers in the district is also spreading fast.
The Arab world’s most impoverished country is passing through difficult times due to the continuous Saudi-led aggression as well as the sea, land, and air blockade imposed by the coalition which is preventing much needed aid including medicines and foodstuffs from entering Yemen.
