Yemen’s Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Saturday renewed his call to the international community and the United Nations to exert more effort to end humanitarian crisis in the country.

"What Yemen immediately needs from the international community and the United Nations is not only emergency humanitarian aid, but to address the roots that cause the humanitarian crisis and to stop the coalition and lift the unjust siege without any delay," Sharaf said in a statement to the state-run news agency, Saba.

The minister also stressed that the Supreme Political Council and the National Salvation Government were still reaching out for peace in return for immediate cessation of the aggression.

Sharaf also reaffirmed that Sana’a will continue to positively deal with all the peace initiatives, including the US State Secretary John Kerry’s peace plan, Muscat’s agreement and the UN envoy Ould Cheikh Ahmed’s roadmap.
