The Saudi-led coalition disregarded the ceasefire it agreed to earlier this week, launching more than 70 airstrikes across Yemen on Friday.

The Saudi Air Force began the day by launching a number of airstrikes against the Yemeni capital, targeting the densely populated neighborhoods and their local markets.

In addition to their attacks on Sana’a, the Saudi warplanes also struck Hajja, Saada, Taiz, and Marib governorates.

Friday’s airstrikes are a clear violation of the ceasefire guidelines the Saudi regime agreed to adhere to during their meeting with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry.

Saudi Arabia began its deadly campaign against Yemen in late March 2015. The strikes were meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

About 10,000 people have been killed and over 16,000 injured since Riyadh launched the airstrikes. The Saudi aggression has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure.
