Saudi Soldier Killed in Border Region

A security spokesperson for the Saudi Interior Ministry said in a statement that a Saudi border guard was killed on Monday when an outpost in Al-Harth sector in Jazan region came under shelling from inside the Yemeni territory, the eighth death from Yemeni firing into the kingdom in just three days.

Cross-border shelling from Yemen has claimed the lives of four members of the Saudi security forces and four civilians since Saturday.

Their deaths bring to more than 80 the number of people killed in the Saudi border zone since the kingdom and its allies launched a military intervention against Yemen in March.

Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for 250 days now to restore power to fugitive former President Abed Rabbu Mansour Hadi. The Saudi-US aggression has so far killed at least 6,579 Yemenis, including hundreds of women and children.

Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Yemeni national military, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.
