On Monday, Saudi warplanes struck a residential neighborhood in the al-Talah district of Yemen’s northwestern province of Sa’ada, situated 240 kilometers north of the capital, Sana’a, leaving four women dead and eight others injured, Arabic-language al-Masirah satellite television network reported.
Two children were also killed and scores of others wounded when Saudi military aircraft pounded the al-Misrakh district in the southwestern Yemeni province of Ta’izz.
Separately, Yemeni army soldiers backed by allied fighters from Popular Committees took control of a military camp in Saudi Arabia’s southwestern border region of Najran, destroying six military vehicles.
Yemen has been under military attacks by Saudi Arabia since late March. The Saudi military strikes were launched to supposedly undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and bring fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi back to power.
More than 7,500 people have been killed and over 14,000 others injured since March. The strikes have also taken a heavy toll on the impoverished country’s facilities and infrastructure, destroying many hospitals, schools, and factories.
Aid groups’ access to the affected areas in the Middle Eastern country has also been severely restricted.
