Yemen’s Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakkil, discussed with the minister of information, Dhaifullah Al-Shami, ways to prepare a national media plan to confront the COVID-19 virus.
The meeting on Saturday touched on the executive mechanisms of the plan and the activities as well as awareness and guidance programs that aim to raise awareness of the coronavirus and ways to prevent it.
In the meeting, Al-Mutawakkil reviewed the measures taken by the ministry in the context of preparations to combat the virus, the latest of which is the announcement of comprehensive mobilization of health cadres and the opening of volunteering for students of medical colleges and health institutes.
Al-Mutawakkil stressed the necessity of joining efforts to confront the coronavirus and intensifying awareness and health aspects to preserve the health and safety of citizens.
For his part, Al-Shami stressed the keenness to harness all the media capabilities to shed light on the COVID-19 and introduce its risks and how to combat it.
Al-Shami pointed out the importance of preparing an executive plan and a joint work matrix in the context of precautionary measures to confront the coronavirus, stressing the readiness of the official media to deal with the directives and instructions of the Ministry of Health as to what would take preventive measures to counter this virus.
