Iran’s President Urges Saudi Arabia to Stop Aggression on Yemen

Iranian President Sheikh Hassan Rouhani urged Saudi Arabia on Sunday to stop aggression on Yemen as a means to settle mutual issues.

Riyadh made a “big mistake” by involving itself in the Yemen war, Rouhani said in a press conference.

“They supposed that Yemen will surrender in weeks or months … This was a mistake Saudi Arabia had committed and caused problems for itself and for Yemen,” he added.

“We do not have a very complicated problem with Saudi Arabia … and if they stop aggression on Yemen, the situation will become prepared for mutual dialogue and peace,” the Iranian president noted.

Saudi Arabia has been leading an Arab military coalition against Yemen’s Houthi revolutionaries for nearly five years in support of the resigned regime of former Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
