Demonstrated in Khartoum took to the streets on Sunday to protest against sending young Sudanese men to fight in Libya and Yemen.
The protesters are accusing UAE-based Black Shield Security Services Company of hiring young men to work as security guards in in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) but are later sent to Yemen and Libya to fight.
Dozens of Sudanese people demonstrated in front of the UAE embassy in Khartoum carrying banners reading "No to mercenary activities", "No to charlatanism", "No to deception".
Among the protesters were families of young men who are deployed to the two war-torn countries after receiving training in UAE military camps.
One of the fighters who recently returned to Khartoum explained to Sudan’s S24 TV how they had been collected from the airport and taken to a military training camp in the desert. He also spoke about how he managed to return to Sudan and how the Sudanese fighters were psychologically manipulated to go to Libya and Yemen.
Earlier in January, the Sudanese government announced it had withdrawn troops from Yemen.
However Black Shield denied allegations of "deceiving and misleading" its employees about the nature of the jobs it offers or the worksite.
"The company reserves its right to take any legal and judicial measures against everyone who has offended the company," read a statement issued by the company.
