The leader of Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement Sayyed Abdul Malik Badreddine al-Houthi on Wednesday accused the US of leading a “direct and hostile” war against the Islamic Ummah (nation).
In an address broadcast on al-Masirah television, Sayyed Houthi warned the Yemeni people that “we are being attacked by obvious enemies led by the American and the Israeli enemies.”
“The American role is essential in the aggression against Yemen,” the Houthi leader stressed, adding that “America does not respect regimes that are submissive and loyal to it like the Saudi regime.”
Sayyed Houthi pointed out that the equation the US wants to establish in the region is the silence and submission of the people in the region while it kills them and interferes in their affairs.
The Yemeni leader affirmed that “unity is a legitimate and obligatory position”, calling for everyone to cooperate to achieve victory.
The US is backing a Saudi-led coalition that has been launching a military campaign against Yemen since 2015 in an attempt to forcefully reinstate a resigned regime led by former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi, a staunch Riyadh ally.
