The members of the Redeployment Coordination Committee (RCC) concerning Yemen's Hodeida will hold a new round of talks aboard a UN-flagged vessel in international waters, said a UN spokesman on Wednesday.

The chair of the RCC, retired Lt. Gen. Abhijit Guha, will facilitate discussions on Wednesday and Thursday on the implementation of the Hodeida Agreement and further steps to enhance the cease-fire in Hodeida, said Stephane Dujarric, spokesman for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

The RCC talks are aimed at implementing a deal on troop withdrawal from the city of Hodeida and ports of Hodeida, Salif and Ras Issa as set out in the December 2018 Stockholm Agreement between the Yemeni government and Hadi forces.

The new round of talks will also discuss improving humanitarian access throughout the Hodeida governorate, said Dujarric.

This year, the United Nations and other humanitarian organizations are reaching 12 million people across Yemen, making it the world's largest aid operation, he said.

More than 24 million Yemenis, or 80 percent of its total population, need some form of humanitarian assistance. Some 7.4 million people need nutrition assistance, of whom 3.2 million people require treatment for acute malnutrition. At least 5.1 million people in 75 hard-to-reach districts have been cut off from humanitarian assistance by restrictions imposed by authorities, he said.

An estimated 3.3 million people remain internally displaced across the country. Nearly half a million have been displaced this year alone, said the spokesman.
