Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, head of the Supreme Revolutionary Committee (SRC), mocked claims made by the Saudi-led coalition and the resigned Hadi regime about liberating Yemen and preserving its sovereignty and independence.
“Who could not secure a plane at an airport he claims to have liberated … cannot safeguard a people and a republic,” al-Houthi wrote in a Twitter post on Wednesday.
“It is funny and shameful. The mercenaries … overlook their inability to guard an aircraft and provide protection for it … but they believe that they are able to guard the homeland they were the tools for its demolition,” al-Houthi wrote.
The Saudi-led coalition and the UAE are imposing a blockade on Yemeni airspace, banning sick people from traveling abroad for treatment.
