Al-Houthi Confirms Failure of UN Envoy’s Arrangements for Peace Negotiations

Member of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council Mohammed Ali al-Houthi has confirmed the failure of the UN envoy’s arrangements for a new round of peace negotiations.

“Griffiths has been arranging a new round [of talks] for some time and has not succeeded until today,” Mohammed Ali al-Houthis wrote in a Twitter post on Wednesday night.

Al-Houthi added that the UN envoy will not reach “a result to stop the aggression or lift the blockade or embargo with the absence of coalition countries on the table.”

“The arrangements do not match the level of negotiation,” said Political Council member Mohammed al-Houthi.

“The envoy’s lack of awareness of the dialectical thinking in changing the reality and the outcome confirms that Martin’s [Griffith] move is fruitless,” he concluded.
