Yemenis Protest Blockade on Sana'a Airport

Hundreds of Yemenis on Friday have staged a rally outside Sana'a International Airport to condemn three years of Saudi blockade on the key entry point for basics into their country.

The protesters chanted slogans saying the blockade is a crime against humanity. They also lifted banners calling for the boycott of Israeli and American goods.

Angry demonstrators called on the Ansarullah movement and allied Yemeni army to hit Saudi international airports in retaliation for the blockade.

Saudi Arabia started its blockade on Sana'a international airport in August 2016. The Yemeni Health Ministry says the move led to the death of at least 25 thousand patients who could have survived if their right to get treatment abroad was not denied by Riyadh.

Demonstrators who gathered at Sana'a International airport slammed the Saudi ban on this main aerial gate as a collective punishment that violated their freedom and human rights.
