Yemen’s Minister of Information and the spokesperson for the Salvation Government in the country, Dhaifallah al-Shami, accused the United States of wanting to control the region.
“The US wants to drain the capabilities of Saudi Arabia and destroy Yemen in order to control the region,” al-Shami told al-Mayadeen channel on Thursday, stressing that “the enemy fought a battle against us in which all it exhausted all its means.”
The spokesperson pointed out that the Yemeni army has moved from a defensive position to an “offensive stage”, adding that Thursday’s military operations carry “carry political, military, economic and security messages.”
On the Thursday, the Yemeni army launched two operations targeting a military parade in Aden and a key installation in Dammam.
Al-Shami stressed that the army “can control the operations at home and abroad”, adding that Thursday’s operation took place at the same time as a double strike.
He also warned the Saudi-led coalition the “the Dammam operation confirms that the missiles will reach further if the aggression did not stop.”
The strike on the military parade in Aden resulted in the death of at least 50 people including a senior military commander.
