The Yemeni army’s artillery unit on Wednesday shelled gatherings of mercenaries backed by the Saudi-led coalition in Taiz province, a military official told Yemen Press Agency.
The shelling targeted the coalition-backed mercenaries in Sala front, leaving many casualties in their ranks, according to the official.
On Tuesday, the army backed by the popular committees repelled an infiltration attempt by the mercenaries in Thaba front. The offensive resulted in many dead and wounded as well as losses in equipment.
