Yemen’s northern province saw a mass demonstration on Friday marking the annual sarkha commemoration.
Participants lifted the Yemeni and Palestinian flags as well as pictures of martyred leader Sayyed Hussein Badriddine al-Houthi.
Slogans calling for freedom and denouncing American policies in the region were chanted. The protesters also called for the boycott of American and Israeli goods.
The demonstrators reaffirmed their rejection to the normalization of ties of some Gulf countries with Israel and the liquidation of the Palestinian cause.
Later in the day, the capital Sana’a and the rest of the provinces will host mass rallies to commemorate the occasion.
