Capture of ISIS Leader by Saudi-led Coalition Is A “Farce” Says Ansarullah Spokesperson

The spokesperson for Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement on Wednesday dismissed the capture of Daesh (ISIS) leader by the Saudi-led coalition as a “farce”.

On Tuesday, a Saudi military statement stated that Saudi Arabia’s special forces captured the leader of Daesh’s branch in Yemen during a raid on a house that was under surveillance.

Mohammad Abdulsalam stressed that the operation is an attempt by the Saudi-led coalition to grab attention away from the “fact that al-Qaeda is present in their military and security ranks.”

Abdulsalam, who is also the head of the national delegation, added that “your demand for the release of al-Qaeda and Daesh prisoners during the exchange of prisoners' lists during the Sweden consultations” and the terror group admitting their presence among the military ranks of Saudi Arabia prove that the operation is a farce.

Daesh, like Al-Qaeda, expanded and recruited amid Yemen’s war to further its reach in the southern tip of the Arabian Peninsula.
