Yemen's Houthis Struck Power Station in Saudi's Jizan Province: Al Masirah TV

Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement said on Wednesday that they struck a power station in Saudi Arabia’s Al-Shuqaiq city, in Jizan province, with a cruise missile, the group’s Al Masirah TV said.

There was no immediate confirmation from Saudi authorities.

The Houthis have stepped up missile and drone attacks on Saudi cities in the past two weeks as part of retaliatory attacks against the continued military aggression by the Saudi-led coalition.

Saudi Arabia leads a Western-backed military coalition that intervened in Yemen in 2015 to forcefully restore the resigned regime of former President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

The humanitarian crisis in Yemen remains the worst in the world.

Nearly four years of conflict and severe economic decline have driven the country to the brink of famine and exacerbated an ongoing humanitarian crisis.

An estimated 80 percent of the population - about 24 million people - require some form of humanitarian or protection assistance, including 14.3 million who are in acute need, according to the United Nations.
