Leader of the Houthi Ansarullah movement Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi has expressed solidarity with the people of Sudan amid the Military Console’s decision to launch a deadly crackdown against protesters.

Demonstrators have staged sit-ins in Khartoum demanding transition of power to civilians. The military council at first had promised a peaceful transition but resorted to violence over the weekend to disperse the protesters.

Sayyed Houthi said Monday that the Military Console in Sudan was in cahoots with regional and international powers to hijack the Sudanese people’s freedom and independence after the toppling of former President Omar al-Bashir.

Earlier, the spokesman of Ansarullah, Mohammed Abdulsalam, condemned what is happening in Sudan.

He accused the Military Console of attempting to suppress the peoples’ demands with force. Abdulsalam believes that the military Console in Khartoum rely on Saudi and Emirati money regardless of putting the country at grave risk.
