The Yemeni army and the Popular Committees announced on Sunday their full control over several area in Al-Khoba in the Saudi province of Jizan, including Qamar, Al-Dhahira and West of Dar Al-Nasr towns, amid confusion among the Saudi army units.

The Yemeni national military and the Committees managed to advance into Al-Khoba city and destroy nine Saudi-led coalition vehicles, leaving scores of Saudi troops killed and wounded.

In Qamar town of Al-Khoba, one Saudi tank and three military vehicles were destroyed and several Saudi soldiers were killed.

Moreover, a Saudi Apache fighter jet was shot down by Yemeni forces in the Safer region in the province of Ma’rib, the SABA news agency said.

Safer witnessed a large retaliatory operation by the Yemeni army and the Committees recently two weeks ago, when about 300 Saudi-led coalition soldiers were killed by Toshka missiles.

A Saudi-led coalition backed by the United States has been carrying out a military aggression on Yemen by launching airstrikes against the country since March 26. The airstrikes have not been authorized by the United Nations [UN].

The US-led Saudi aggression began in a bid to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to the country’s fugitive former Yemeni president, Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Saudi Arabia.

As a result, the Yemeni army backed by popular committees and tribal fighters has been responding to the aggression by targeting several Saudi border military posts and cleansing several areas across the country from Hadi and al-Qaeda-linked militias.
