Save the Children will hold a public event in Rome's Galleria Alberto Sordi on Sunday, March 24 at 19:00 titled "Stop the War on Children" in support of children suffering in the war in Yemen.
The organization said nearly 6,500 children have been killed or wounded in airstrikes in Yemen since the start of the war four years ago.
It said currently more than one in 10 children live in areas in which the intensity of the conflict is high, with devastating consequences on the children and their future.
The event aims to "give them a voice and keep attention on what is now the biggest humanitarian crisis in the world".
It will bring together the music of pianist Giovanni Allevi, who is a Save the Children ambassador, and the voice of actress Anna Foglietta, who is president of the association Every Child Is My Child.
Save the Children said the event will tell the story of "the daily life that children in Yemen live, the suffering they are forced to endure, but also their great desire for a future of peace and hope".
The director of Save the Children in Yemen, Tamer Kirolos, is also scheduled to speak at the event.
