A US senator hailed the resolution passed by the Senate ending American support for a Saudi-led coalition bombing Yemen as a “step in the right direction.”
“With passage of this resolution, we have reasserted Congress’s constitutional role over declaring war and over putting American blood and treasure on the line. It is long past time that we end U.S. involvement in this unauthorized, unjustified, and immoral war that has caused immense human suffering,” Mike Lee said in a statement released after the resolution calling for the removal of United States Armed Forces from Yemen was passed on Thursday.
The measure passed by a margin of 54 to 46 on Wednesday, with seven Republicans breaking from their party rank and file
“I look forward to the House of Representatives taking up and passing this resolution,” Lee's statement concluded.
