Houthi Leader: Distortion And Deviation Are Greatest Risks To The Yemeni Identity

The Leader of the Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement, Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badreddin al-Houthi, warned Friday against two threats to the Yemeni identity and faith – distortion and deviation.

“Distortion and deviation of faith and identity are the greatest threats as they spread hatred against religion and target moral values and overall human principles,” Sayyid al-Houthi said during a speech he delivered on the occasion of the First Friday of Rajab 1440, aired on Friday night.

Sayyid Abdul-Malik al-Houthi stressed that the distortion is represented by takfiri forces that move under the guise of faith, but offer a different character.

“They both are used to control man and control nations. Saudi Arabia, for example, is adopting and financing both,” the Houthi leader stated.

He further stressed that the most important thing that has been entrenched by faith is the stance of the Yemeni people since the emergence of Islam and the tendency to victor righteousness and holding on to freedom.

“Takfiri forces are working to separate the original identity of the Yemenis and to link them to the Wahhabi and Takfiri movements, which are hostile to the [Yemeni] nation,” Sayyid Houthi concluded.
