The representative of the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) in Yemen expressed sorrow over news that Yemeni children were being killed.

“I'm deeply saddened by media reports of children killed in the south of Hudaydah,” Sara Beysolow Nyanti, said in a Twitter post on Friday.

“The war on children must stop! Yemen is calling for peace,” she added. “Children should be protected at all times. Each life matters.”

Earlier in the day, one child was killed and another wounded in separate shelling attacks launched by the Saudi-led coalition forces in Hodeida and Saada provinces.

Yemenis have been under massive attacks by the Saudi-UAE coalition for nearly four years. So far, the coalition’s objectives have failed.
Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to forcefully restore to power the former president of Yemen, Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi.
