The UN Security Council renewed sanctions for another year in Yemen, which have first been imposed back in February 2014.

Financial and travel sanctions are affecting persons or entities who have been deemed a risk to Yemen's peace, security and stability.

The UN Security Council assumed Resolution 2456 unanimously, determining the Yemeni condition as an ongoing threat to peace and security around the world.

The resolution further highlights the situation on an arms ban which was imposed against Houthi revolutionaries and former president Ali Abdullah Saleh forces back in April 2015.
