Denmark’s Foreign Minister Anders Samuelsen directed the attention of the UN Human Rights Council to the conflict in Yemen stating that it has developed into the world’s largest humanitarian catastrophe.

During the Council’s 40th session, which got underway in Geneva on Monday, Samuelsen urged “all parties to the conflict to ensure protection of civilians and unhindered access for humanitarian assistance.”

“Implementation of the Stockholm agreement remains vital,” Denmark’s top diplomat added.

Samuelsen expressed his government’s “unconditional support to the ongoing UN-led efforts to bring this deeply disturbing conflict to an end.”
