Teachers Protest in Sana’a to Demand Overdue Salaries

Yemeni teachers on Tuesday staged a rally in front of the United Nations Office in Sana’a to demand payment for their salaries.

The protesting teachers said that the systematic targeting of the education sector and educational facilities by the Saudi-led coalition and its militias to stop the educational process in the country is a failed attempt.

The protesters deplored the United Nations and the international community’s continued silence towards the crimes, blockade and deteriorating humanitarian situation committed by the coalition.

The teachers condemned the policy of starvation that the coalition is utilizing as economic leverage to target the Yemeni people.

Saudi Arabia and its regional allies, including the UAE, launched the devastating military campaign against Yemen to bring the Riyadh-backed former regime back to power.

The coalition has, however, failed to achieve its objective in the face of the Yemenis’ resistance.
