Loud Explosion Rocks Aden’s Oil Refineries - Report

A loud explosion rocked Yemen’s Aden refineries on Friday. The blast was followed by a massive fire in one of the reservoir tanks in the city of Al-Buraika.

According to a journalist who works for The National newspaper, the reason behind the blast is still unknown.

A source in the civil defence told the newspaper that the fire was too large to be extinguished. However, it was contained to prevent it from spreading to the rest of the reservoirs.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Yemeni armed forces denied news spread by the Saudi-led media that a Houtih drone was behind the attack.

“The drones have not carried out any operations in the past few hours,” the spokesperson was quoted as saying.
