The official spokesperson of Yemen’s Armed Forces, Brigadier General Yahia Sarie, has welcomed the announcement of the ceasefire, which started early Tuesday.
“The Ministry of Defense and the Presidency of the General Staff welcomes the ceasefire in Hodeida province,” Sarei said in a statement.
He confirmed the commitment of the Yemeni army to the agreement reached in Sweden last Thursday.
The leadership of the Ministry of Defense hopes that the ceasefire agreement in Hodeida will be a start to a comprehensive nationwide halt, bringing peace and an end of the suffering of the Yemeni people, he said.
In this regard, the armed forces praised all efforts being made to achieve this goal and saluted the great Yemeni people, who are very proud and supportive of the army in the battle against the Saudi-led aggression.
