Hezbollah Chief Says Calls For End To Yemen War Are Result Of Yemeni Resistance

Hezbollah’s Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah blasted the international community’s inaction on Yemen, comparing it with the world’s response to the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

“The world has every right to get surprised and condemn what happened [with Khashoggi], but this world is also strange for standing unmoved while witnessing the daily massacres in Yemen,” Sayyed Nasrallah said.

He made the remarks on Saturday as he addressed thousands of supporters marking Hezbollah Martyrs’ Day.

The Hezbollah leader also touched on recent calls from the Trump administration for a cessation of hostilities in Yemen.
“We are facing a new situation in Yemen and the call for an end to aggression may be either serious or potentially deceitful,” he said. “The possibility of an end to the aggression on Yemen is the result of fact that the Yemenis have resisted this aggression.”
