The Chairman of the Supreme Revolutionary Committee (SRC), Mohammed Ali al-Houthi has called on the United Nations Security Council to issue a binding resolution to halt the war in Yemen.
“Calls for cessation of the war in Yemen are not enough, even if it was good because the Saudi-led aggression and its allies in Yemen don’t consider these calls as binding. And they are working to make it continuous,” al- Houthis wrote on His Twitter account on Thursday.
“Halting the aggression will be achieved quickly by doing one thing which is in the hands of the countries by issuing a binding decision from the Security Council to stop the aggression and lift the blockade. This only requires holding a session at the council, ” al-Houthi added.
Saudi Arabia and a number of its regional allies launched a devastating military campaign against Yemen in March 2015, with the aim of bringing the resigned regime of Hadi back to power and crushing the country’s popular Houthi Ansarullah movement.
