At least 6 Saudi-backed fighters were reported killed on Thursday in the Yemeni province of Jawf.

Two senior militants including a commander and an operations officer were among the dead following heavy clashes with Yemeni forces.

The casualties belonged to the so-called Tasks Force of the 155th Infantry Brigade and the Qadisiyah battalion.

Saudi Arabia and a number of its regional allies launched a devastating military campaign against Yemen in March 2015, with the aim of bringing the resigned regime of Hadi back to power and crushing the country’s popular Houthi Ansarullah movement.
