Saudi-Led Coalition Sends Thousands Of Troops Towards Hodeidah

The Saudi-led coalition deployed 10,000 troops towards Yemen’s port city of Hudaydah, according to an unnamed official from the ousted regime of Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi.

The official told AFP that the deployment is part of a planned new offensive aimed at securing "areas liberated" from the Houthi Ansarullah movement.

The mission is supposedly expected to commence "within days" and forces from Sudan moved in to "secure" areas around the strategic city.

Back in June, the Saudi-led coalition launched a full-scale offensive against the Hudaydah but failed to achieve any of its stated objectives and the attack quickly came to a grinding halt.

Humanitarian organizations have repeatedly warned that military operations against Hudaydah threaten to cut off essential supplies to millions of Yemenis.
