The resigned Hadi regime is currently working on finalizing the arrangements for the formation of the delegation that will be participating in the Geneva consultations, scheduled on September 6, after receiving the proposed number of participants from the office of the UN Envoy, the Foreign Minister in the regime said.

Speaking to Saudi owned Asharq Al-Awsat, Khaled al-Yemani said that the number of participants in the Hadi delegation is estimated at 14 members.

They include negotiators, experts and secretaries supported by the US-backed Saudi-led Coalition and under the leadership of former President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

Yemani explained that the formation of the team has begun since the regime received the invitation of Special Envoy Martin Griffiths, in which he specified that the team should be constituted of 12 members, “six chief negotiators, three technical experts and three members of the secretariat.”

Following that, the regime received a request to increase the members of the Hadi delegation to be composed of “eight key experts, three consultants and three secretaries.”

The Hadi regime is currently completing the preparations and is ready to go to Geneva, and the regime list is expected to be handed over to Griffiths’ office within the next two days.

Yemani added that the regime is in direct contact with the Envoy’s office and they are on the same page concerning the issues to be discussed and the mechanism for addressing them.

Yemani lauded Griffiths' great experience in resolving conflicts at the European and UN levels.

“He deals with consultations from a different angle, which depends on the participants and what can be accomplished at this time in the light of the great failures experienced by past peace efforts, given the intransigence of the coup militias," he added.
