Army Inflicts Heavy Losses on Saudi-paid Mercenaries over Weekend

The Yemeni army launched retaliatory attacks against Saudi-paid mercenaries over the weekend, killing and wounding dozens, a military official told the state-run news agency Saba on Sunday.

In the western coast, the army launched an offensive against Saudi-backed mercenaries in Tuhita area, klling and injuring several militants and seizing a number of weapons. The Yemeni army also destroyed a military vehicle and killed its crew.

In Marib province, dozens of mercenaries were killed and injured in the Yemeni army’s an offensive against several sites including al-Madfon, Eydah, al-Qarn and Yam in Nehm district. Yemeni soldiers also destroyed a bulldozer and foiled infiltration attempt towards al-Qatab and al-Rubah hilltops, killing and injuring a number of mercenaries.

Meanwhile, three military trucks in the Khabwashaf and Maslub districts of Jawf province were destroyed. The crewmembers were all killed.

Elsewhere in Taiz province, the army launched a military operation in Hamir front of Awidah area, killing and wounding several militiamen.

In Bayda province, the army shelled military sites in Qanih area with artillery.

In Jizan province, the army foiled an infiltration attempt, killing and wounding a number of the infiltrators. They also shot dead 11 militiamen in al-Dud Mountain.

In Asir province, the Yemeni air defense shot down a coalition fighter jets and destroyed seven military vehicles in Alib crossing.

The Yemeni army fired a ballistic missile, Zilzal 2, on Saudi troops in al-Sudis while the artillery fired towards Saudi tanks in al-Sudis and Nahuqah sites in Najran province.
