Israel-bound Flights to Use Saudi Airspace

Saudi Arabia has granted Air India flights headed to Israel permission to use its airspace.

According to Israel’s Haaretz newspaper, the decision is to be implemented in March.

The move reverses a 70-year-old policy, which banned flights heading to Israel from using Saudi airspace.

The announcement also signals warmer ties between Tel Aviv and Riyadh, which have been improving relations throughout last year.

A number of governments in the Middle East have criticized Persian Gulf monarchies for normalizing ties with the Israelis, who continue to occupy Arab lands and perpetrate daily atrocities against Palestinians.
