A total of 209 prisoners who were arrested during the clashes that broke out in December were released on Monday following an amnesty decree issued by the President of the Supreme Political Council (SPC), Saleh al-Sammad, an interior ministry official told the state-run news agency Saba.
179 prisoners were released from the Yemeni capital Sana’a and the rest from Amran province.
