The Yemeni army and popular forces fired Katyusha rockets on military the positions of the Saudi-paid mercenaries in Taiz province, a military official told the state-run news agency Saba on Monday.
The rockets accurately hit the targets in the western Khalid camp.
Also, the national forces launched a military operation on sites and bombed two military vehicles in al-Ghail valley in al-Wazaih district in the same province.
Meanwhile, the artillery of the army also hit position in the north of Thubab mountain in the same province, the agency added.
Saudi Arabia began its deadly campaign against Yemen in late March 2015. The strikes were meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
About 12,000 people have been killed and over 19,343 injured since Riyadh launched the airstrikes. The Saudi aggression has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure.
Yemeni forces have been engaged in retaliatory attacks against the Saudi forces deployed in the country as well as targets inside Saudi Arabia.
