Yemen's Houthi Fire Artillery On Saudi Border City

Yemen's Houthi revolutionaries fired a barrage of artillery shells on their enemy military bases deep inside the Saudi border city of Jizan on Sunday, the movement said in a statement to the state-run Saba news agency.

The Houthis said they targeted al-Miktaba and Kharshab bases, which are inside Jizan and under control of the Saudi army.

"The shelling killed dozens of Saudi enemy soldiers and wounded other scores," the statement read.

Houthi fighters and their allied Saleh's forces have been retaliating against military positions inside the Saudi border since a coalition of Arab states headed by Riyadh launched a military aggression to bring back to power resigned Yemeni president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

The UN has sponsored peace talks between the warring factions for several times, but the factions failed to reach a deal to end the civil war, which has already killed more than 12,000 people, half of them civilians, and injured over 35,000 others.
