During a televised speech at a ceremony marking the birthday anniversaries of Imam Hussein, Imam Sajjad and Abu Fadl Abbas, the Secretary General of Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement blasted the global inaction over the atrocities being committed in Yemen by the Saudi-led coalition.
"Although the United Nations has recognized the death of millions of Yemenis from starvation and its knowledge that Saudi Arabia, a US ally is the perpetrator, no one dares to say a rightful word," Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said.
Saudi Arabia has been leading a destructive military campaign against Yemen since March 2015 to reinstate former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
The campaign has seriously damaged the country’s infrastructure. Local Yemeni sources have put the death toll from the Saudi war at over 12,000, including many women and children.
Meanwhile the aerial and naval blockade of the country is starving the population.
