A number of Saudi-paid mercenaries were killed and others wounded when the Yemeni army and popular forces repelled an attempt to infiltrate toward Taiz province, a military official told Saba on Monday.
The mercenaries were killed when they tried moving toward Al Arba'ain Street, the official added.
The army and popular forces also on Monday hit gatherings of US-Saudi-paid mercenaries in the north of Mokha district of Taiz province, a military official told the state-news agency Saba.
The positons were hit in Yakhtal area.
Moreover, the national forces bombed military vehicle of the mercenaries in front of Al Thawbany area of Mawza'a district, the official added.
Saudi Arabia began its deadly campaign against Yemen in late March 2015. The strikes were meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
About 12,000 people have been killed and over 19,343 injured since Riyadh launched the airstrikes. The Saudi aggression has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure.
Yemeni forces have been engaged in retaliatory attacks against the Saudi forces deployed in the country as well as targets inside Saudi Arabia.
