Yemen’s Prime Minister Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor, blasted Friday’s US strike on a Syrian air base, which reportedly left over a dozen people dead.

The Yemeni Premier expressed his nation’s solidarity with Syria adding that the attack violated the country’s sovereignty and confirmed the links between terrorist groups and their sponsors.

"The pre-coordination between this attack and Al Qaida and Daesh, which came simultaneously with a Daesh attack on the Syrian city of Tadmor confirms links between these extremist groups and the state sponsoring the anti-terror efforts," bin Habtoor said.

Earlier Yemen’s Supreme Political Council accused Washington of being the driving force behind wars waged against countries in the region.

"We in the Supreme Political Council confirm that the blatant American aggression on Syria is an extension of their aggression on Yemen and the region," a statement issued by the council read.

The statement added that all countries including Syria and Yemen have the right to defend their sovereignty as guaranteed under international law.
