The Mokha district in Yemen’s southwestern province of Taiz was the latest target for Saudi warplanes, which reportedly launched nine strikes in the area on Monday.
In response to Riyadh’s ongoing military campaign, Yemeni forces continued to pound Saudi bases across the border in the kingdom’s southern provinces of Najran, Jizan and Assir.
According to Yemeni military officials, the latest round of artillery attacks left scores of Saudi soldiers dead and injured.
The officials in Sanaa added that a joint effort by the Yemeni army and the country’s popular committees also resulted in the death of at least two enemy soldiers after they came under sniper fire.
Meanwhile inside Yemen Saudi-backed militants are reported to have sustained their own share of losses after coming under mortar fire Marib province.
Yemen’s armed forces have been stepping up their retaliatory attacks in recent months as the Saudi bombardment continues to claim the lives of innocent civilians.
