Yemen’s Armed Forces Target Saudi-backed Militants in Taiz

The Yemeni army backed by the country’s popular committees, which include the Houthi Ansarullah movement, reportedly killed dozens of Saudi-backed militants in a string of attacks.

Yemen’s armed forces carried out the attacks in the country’s southwestern province of Taiz. The heaviest fighting took place in the districts of Jarrah and Maqbanah.

The militant groups backed by Riyadh and its military coalition regularly suffer significant losses in similar attacks.

Arabia has been engaged in a deadly campaign against Yemen since March 2015 in an attempt to reinstall the former Yemeni government.

The offensive has claimed over 12,000 civilian lives. Meanwhile the -imposed aerial and naval blockade is starving the Yemeni population resulting in a humanitarian catastrophe on an unprecedented scale.
