The Yemeni army backed by the country’s popular committees reportedly killed 20 Saudi-backed militants in a mortar attack targeting Yemen’s northern Hajjah province.
In a separate round of shelling Yemeni forces struck militant positions in Bayda province. According to unnamed security officials in Sanaa scores of Saudi-backed fighters were killed in the shelling.
Yemeni army snipers also killed five Saudi officers in an unspecified location.
Yemen’s armed forces launch retaliatory attacks in response to the ongoing Saudi military campaign against their country which has killed over 12,000 people since March 2015.
