Scores of Saudi-backed militants were reportedly killed in the latest round of clashes in Yemen’s Sana'a province.
Yemeni military officials reported that the army foiled an attempt by the militants to infiltrate Sanaa’s Nehm district, inflicting heavy losses on the enemy.
Elsewhere, the Yemenis killed and wounded dozens of militants after striking the Sailan camp in the northwestern Jawf province with the Zilzal 2 Ballistic missile.
Meanwhile several Saudi soldiers were reportedly killed across the border when the artillery of the army and popular forces shelled military sites in Saudi Arabia’s Jizan and Najran provinces.
Saudi Arabia has been engaged in a deadly campaign against Yemen since March 2015 in an attempt to reinstall the former Yemeni government.
The offensive has claimed 11,403 lives and left 19,343 others wounded, according to figures compiled by the Legal Center for Rights and Development, a Yemeni non-governmental monitoring group.
